Sudan Set for FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021™

Sudan is set to play against Algeria, Egypt and Lebanon at the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021™, which is taking place in Qatar from 30 November and 18 December 2021.

The opening ceremony was highly-received, which included jaw-dropping pyrotechnics display along with some beautiful choreography and performances that featured traditional themes, scenes and costumes from the Arab region. A trio sang the national anthems of each participating country, including Sudan and South Sudan, and later even played a short clip of one of Sudan’s colloquial pro-revolution songs.

The FIFA Arab Cup™ sees 16 teams from across the Arab world come together to compete. The event offers a great opportunity for competitors and spectators alike to experience the iconic stadiums of Qatar that will host the World Cup in 2022. These are 32 finals matches to be played in six venues.

The tournament phase involves 16 teams, of which seven came through the qualifying round; all 23 teams competing are under the auspices of either the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Sudan is in Group D, alongside Algeria, Egypt and Lebanon – all playing against each other.

The Sudan team will include Faris Abdullah, Amir Kamal, Abu Ishreen, Mohammed Arnag, and more.
