Are you interested in writing for 500 Words Magazine? We’re always looking for more writers and content.

Please read our submission guidelines below before submitting your story pitch or work along with your name, occupation and other relevant activities you’re involved in – blog/website address and social media, etc.

Submission guidelines:

• We highly recommend submitting a story idea or pitch first, rather than a completed article or written piece.
• Your story idea/pitch should be about Sudan and/or South Sudan.
• We only accept original work and should be submitted by the writer him or herself.
• We do not consider previously published work.
• If you are submitted a completed article or written piece, you need to include a title or headline and your full name. Please include a short bio at the end of the article.
• Articles should be submitted in a minimum of 500 words.
• We do not publish poetry or spoken word, or research or academic papers.
• Research or academic papers may only be published if they are rewritten and reformatted as feature articles suitable for our platform.

We’re looking for well-rounded, fun and talented writers and bloggers to cover anything and everything Sudan and South Sudan. We want to give aspiring writers a chance to get published and reach a wider audience, as well as those who are already skilled. Whether you’re Sudanese or not, and have something to share about Sudan and/or South Sudan, get in touch.
