The Millions March saw overwhelming participation of Sudanese outside of Khartoum, including Wad Madani, Port Sudan, Kordofan, Atbara and much more. Protests also took place in different cities in the US and the UK, including New York and London, organised by Sudanese communities abroad.

As in every coup protest since the coup led by General Abdel Fattah Al Burhan on 25 October, police forces fired tear gas to disperse protests.

The Millions March also marks the third anniversary of the third Sudanese Revolution, which is also known as the Sudan Uprising, which began in December 2018 and led to the ousting of former Sudanese President of Omar Al Bashir, who reigned over Sudan for nearly 30 years.
After the fall of Al Bashir, a transitional Sovereign Council came to power in August 2019, establishing a joint 11-member military-civilian council that will rule the country by rotation for a period of at least three years and three months with Abdallah Hamdok as Prime Minister and Al Burhan as the Chairman of the council. However, in October 2021, Al Burhan led a coup that dissolved the military-civilian Sovereign Council and arrested Hamdok and many other civilian members of the council. After weeks of protest and international outcry, Hamdok was reinstated in November 2021 signing a new agreement with Al Burhan. However, the public was unhappy with the agreement especially after at least 45 people have been killed in protests since the coup. Thus, the reignited Sudanese Revolution continues.
