The Sudan Center for Down Syndrome (SCDS) is the first training and rehabilitation centre for people with down syndrome in Sudan, which officially began operations in February 2021 with the financial support of Turkish philanthropists.

The opening was attended by Turkey’s Ambassador to Sudan Irfan Neziroglu. According to the ambassador, the rent for the centre was paid for by a Turkish businessman. In addition, the Turkish Federation of Special Needs Athletes (TOSSFED) donated tracksuits and sports equipment for the students.

Many took to social media to celebrate the students’ success and congratulate them, including the Turkish Embassy in Khartoum.
