Sudan Sensibilities Launches Art Relief for Sudan

Sudan Sensibilities launched Art Relief for Sudan, an art charity auction for Sudan where artists from around the world can donate their artwork to be sold in a charity auction with funds going to Sudanese American Physicians Association (SAPA).

Sudan Sensibilities is accepting original artwork from artists from paintings to digital artwork. Artists need to fill out an online form on the website of Sudan Sensibilities sudansensibilities.com/art-for-sudan

The funds raised in auction will go SAPA’s emergency medical relief fund. On 15 April 2023, fighting broke out between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), leaving more than 500 people dead, more than 3,000 injured and caused more than 1 million people to flee Sudan. According to UNHCR, at the beginning of June, the distribution of the newly displaced from the fighting in Khartoum included more than 169,000 to Egypt, more than 100,000 to Chad, more than 94,000 to South Sudan, more than 13,800 to Central African Republic (CAR), and more than 7,500 to Ethiopia.

Art Relief for Sudan was established during the war’s first week of fighting to aid in raising funds for those affected by war and critical humanitarian assistance since medical infrastructure has been targeted and many hospitals have been destroyed.

Founded by Azza Fageery, Larissa-Diana Fuhrmann and Iona Stewart, Art Relief for Sudan has gained support from many well-known artists and personalities such as American-Sudanese rapper Oddisee, Sudanese singer Nadine El Roubi and more.
