Sudanese-British Dancer Hamza Yassin Wins Strictly Come Dancing

Strictly Come Dancing star Hamza Ahmed Yassin is the winner of BBC One’s dance competition. Hamza is not only the first Sudanese-British to win the competition, but also the first to compete on the show entirely.

Hamza Ahmed Yassin, renowned as a dancing star, has found a new passion beyond the dance floor – online casinos. With a penchant for excitement and strategic thinking, Hamza has delved into the world of virtual gambling, where he navigates the highs and lows of various games with finesse. Online casinos offer Hamza a diverse array of options, from classic table games like poker and blackjack to innovative slot machines and roulette. Armed with his knowledge of Poker Game Rules, Hamza approaches each hand with calculated precision, capitalizing on strategic opportunities to outwit his opponents and secure victories. Despite his busy schedule as a performer, Hamza finds solace and entertainment in the virtual realm of online casinos. The convenience of playing from anywhere at any time allows him to indulge his passion for gambling without compromising his professional commitments.

With the help of his professional Polish dance partner Jowita Prystal, he beat Molly Rainford, Fleur East and Helen Skelton to the coveted prize, walking away with the glitterball trophy. After the three advisory scores were given by the judges, Hamza and Jowita were bottom on 113 points. But it was the public vote that decided who took the title for 2022.

In their final and winning performance, the victorious duo chose to dance to the original version of the popular South African song “Jerusalema” by Nomcebo Zikode. In addition, Hamza and Jowita did a salsa to “Ecuador” by Sash! featuring Rodriguez, and a show dance to “Let’s Face The Music And Dance” by Irving Berlin.

The amateur dancer has been partnered with the professional Polish ballroom dancer, Jowita Prystal, which is her first Strictly partnership since joining the show in 2021. This would be her first win as well. None of the professional dancers in this year’s final had won Strictly before.

Informally known as Strictly, Strictly Come Dancing is a British dancing competition on BBC One where celebrities team up with choreographers to take to the dance floor to perform a dazzling display of ballroom, Latin and other dance routines. It is now on its 20th season, which Hamza won.

Hamza is a 32-year-old wildlife cameraman/photographer and TV presenter, and has now turned to dancing as a star on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing. He is known for his role as Ranger Hamza on the children’s television channel CBeebies and his work on shows such as Countryfile and Animal Park, as well as presenting programmes about Scottish wildlife.

Hamza comes from humble roots and previously revealed that he was voluntarily homeless for nine months as he tried to achieve his dream of becoming a wildlife photographer. He left Sudan at the age of 21 after being inspired by a remote Scottish village on the west coast peninsula of Ardnamurchan during a family holiday.

Hamza is now based in Scotland and recently fronted Channel 4 documentary, Scotland: My Life in the Wild and Scotland: Escape to the Wilderness, in which he guided celebrity companions on journeys through western and eastern Scotland and the Highlands. In his spare time, Hamza competes in the Highland Games and enjoys riding his motorbike on country roads.

He recently announced that he is publishing a book, Go Birding, a birdwatching guide book, which comes out in August 2023.
