Turkish Airlines Launches First Direct Flights to South Sudan

Turkish Airlines launched its first direct flights to Juba, South Sudan on 1 June 2022.

Turkish Airlines will operate flights between Juba and Istanbul three days a week – Monday, Wednesday and Friday. 

Turkish Airlines describes Juba as ‘one of the biggest natural habitats of the world. Juba in particular is very attractive with the Nile and its neighboring tropical forests. We recommend you visit Juba between October and April because of the heat. Let’s get a closer look at Juba for those planning an extraordinary vacation…it is surrounded by a very rich geography full of underground springs, forests, and rivers’.

South Sudan is the 129th country in the Turkish flag carrier’s international network, and Juba is their 62nd destination to Africa.

Turkish Ambassador Erdem Mutaf said, this is a great opportunity for the people of the two countries. He added that it will as well connect South Sudan to the rest of the world through direct and transit flights of Turkish Airlines.🇸🇸🇹🇷 pic.twitter.com/fqLYwf3wQc

Juba had a very special guest today. The first @TurkishAirlines plane from İstanbul to Juba landed today at the JIA in South Sudan.
