Sudanese music is slowly taking the world stage, whether its common Sudanese songs such as Shokralla Ezeldin’s “Sharee’ Al Neel” (Nile Street), or contemporary Sudanese songs such as Mazmars and Seidosimba’s “MaMuhim” (Not Important).
Playing a role in bringing Sudanese music, especially those that infuse Afrobeat and rap music, to the world are Sudanese disc jockeys, better known as DJs, who use their platforms whether on the radio, clubs and other party venues, weddings and other private events, social media and more to introduce and entertain their audiences with music from their home country.
As Sudan’s music scene is growing with various musicians from all genres so are the country’s DJs, who once mostly resided in Sudan, but due to the ongoing war in Sudan now reside across the world from Egypt to Germany to America.
