The Muse multi studios has joined hands with Savannah Innovation Labs to hold monthly art exhibitions by Sudanese artists to showcase their artwork and further develop Sudan’s art culture.
Founded by well-known Sudanese artist, Reem Aljeally, The Muse multi studios is a new creative enterprise that aims to promote art – with a focus on visual arts – in the community and establish life-long learning opportunities between participants.
The Muse aims to support artists through their journey by providing them with the tools, knowledge, spaces and the network they need. Going from that goal, their partnership with Savannah Innovation Labs was born. Savannah Innovation Labs is an inclusive platform that is dedicated to enabling the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Sudan.
Through this partnership, The Muse is able to give artists the opportunity to showcase their art by curating and organising exhibitions, allowing people into the art community and widely spreading the art culture in the society.
Every month, The Muse will host art exhibitions by Sudani artists at Savannah Innovation Labs on Badr Street in Altaif. The art exhibitions are accompanied with many activities including musical nights, discussion panels and artists talks.
The Muse has previously hosted the art exhibitions, Destinies, by the artist Abubakr Muaz in March 2021 and TRUSONA by artist Elhassan Elmuontasir in May 2021.
TRUSONA is a continuation of a thinking process explored by Elmuontasir over several projects and mediums. Through this exhibition, he expresses the system’s indifference to human nature and to one’s ideas, cultures and preferences and puts us under a number or an ID that represents our entire existence. TRUSONA is still open for private viewing and bookings through their email, themuse.sd@gmail.com, until 1 June.
The Muse and Savannah have a list of exhibitions by various artists planned for the rest of the year along with a residency programme and various projects that are on a mission to enrich the arts scene in Sudan.
