Muslims around the world welcomed the holy month of Ramadan on 1 March in some countries and 2 March in others. As the ninth and most significant month of the Islamic calendar, it is a time for fasting, prayer, reflection, and giving back to the community.
Families come together for iftar (the meal eaten after breaking the fast at maghrib or sunset) and/or suhoor (meal eaten early in the morning before fajr or dawn, before the fast begins), engage in prayer, and take part in acts of charity. It’s also a time when many gather to enjoy Ramadan series, a beloved tradition during the holy month. From Kuwait to Syria to Egypt, these star-studded shows span various genres, including comedy, romance, crime, family, and drama.
In recent years, Sudan has embraced this trend, with Sudanese actors, YouTubers, and content creators producing independent Sudanese series on YouTube – making them easily accessible for all to watch.
