Sudanese-American Dr Iman Abuzeid is on the Time100 Next 2024 List

Iman Abuzeid, a Sudanese-American physician and entrepreneur, is on Time Magazine’s Time100 Next 2024 List, which was released on 2 October 2024.

Abuzeid and and her business partner, Rome Portlock, founded Incredible Health, a digital nurse hiring platform, in 2017 to help solve the nursing shortage plaguing American hospitals. It is a similar version of LinkedIn, but for nurses. Their profiles get matched to open positions listed by US hospitals. In 2022, Abuzeid announced that Incredible Health had raised USD80 million from private investors, valuing the company at USD1.65 billion.

The TIME100 Next 2024 list recognises emerging leaders from around the world who are shaping the future and defining the next generation of leadership. ‘Now in its fifth year, the TIME100 Next list was created to recognise that many of today’s most influential leaders are individuals who are not waiting long in life to make an impact. Nor are they eager to respect the status quo by following the traditional power structures and pathways that have determined what influence looked like in the past. TIME100 Next has no age requirements; its aim is to recognise that influence does not have them either, nor does leadership look like it once did. Based in Texas, Abuzeid is a former medical doctor, receiving a medical degree in the UK, a McKinsey alumnus and holds a Wharton MBA. She led product management at health tech startups and then moved to healthcare consulting in the US.
