Olla Sidi Competing as Miss Nation Sudan 2019

Model, actress and entrepreneur Olla Sidi is competing as Miss Nation Sudan in the annual beauty pageant, Miss Nation.

Born and raised in Saudi Arabia, Sidi moved between Saudi Arabia and the United States, and then moved between Malaysia, Turkey and Cyprus to pursue different educational careers. She later received a bachelor’s degree in business administration in Cyprus. The 24-year-old is now a co-founder of a clothing brand, Nab Streetwear.

Miss Nation was founded in 2016 in Hungary as a conservative international beauty contest where the swimsuit walk does not take place. Miss Nation started a campaign, #stayU, which focuses on natural and unique beauty, calling on girls and young women to not compare themselves with other girls and refrain from plastic surgery to change themselves. Miss Nation aims to bring nations together to admire each other’s values and show their own identity.

‘I found out about the Miss Nation beauty contest through social media and read the whole concept on their website. I contacted them to add up my nation, Sudan, in the beauty contest as it was not apart of it. They did an online casting for me and thankfully I was qualified enough for the contest,’ said Sidi.

‘The second stage of my the Miss Nation competition was to go to UAE for a 7-day bootcamp where they were getting to know the contestants and film there introductory video. It was a very beautiful experience one of the most wonderful experiences of my life that involved making new friends from different nations, the experience taught me how to represent my culture at the very best by giving a great speech and having the continuous confident behavior,’ she added.

Other nations competing in Miss Nation 2019 include Armenia, India, Nigeria, Serbia, Russia, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Netherlands, Uganda, Lithuania, Hungary, Pakistan, Finland and Ukraine. Miss Nation Sudan is currently leading with the largest number of votes, standing at 24,877. The three top contestants with the most votes will be the final three. The second and third runner up, and Miss Nation 2019 will be determined by the judges.

Miss Nation 2019 will be crowned in Dubai, UAE on 31 December 2019.
