The Federal Ministry of Health has reported 127 new COVID-19 cases and eight new deaths on 3 July 2020, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in Sudan to 9,894 and the total number of deaths to 616.
The ministry also reported 226 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 4,899.
Sudan is currently on partial lockdown until further notice.

According to the ministry, out of the 127 newly reported cases, 83 are from Khartoum, 16 from the River Nile, 15 from El Gezira, two from the Red Sea, two from North Kordofan, one from South Kordofan, and one from West Kordofan. Out of the eight newly reported deaths, five are from Khartoum, one from El Gezira, one from Kassala, and one from North Darfur.
Out of the total 9,894 positive cases in Sudan, 7,214 are from Khartoum, 955 from El Gezira, 250 from El Gadarif, 202 from the River Nile, 195 from Sennar, 183 from North Kordofan, 182 from the Red Sea, 158 from the White Nile, 142 from North Darfur, 123 from Kassala, 96 from Ash Shamaliyah, 56 from West Kordofan, 38 from South Darfur, 32 from West Darfur, 27 from the Blue Nile, 21 from East Darfur, 15 from South Kordofan and five from Central Darfur. As of 9 May, all of Sudan’s 18 states have reported COVID-19 cases.
A partial lockdown in Sudan began on 18 April 2020 in the capital city, Khartoum. On 24 April, Sudan has extended the lockdown to other states including South Darfur, North Darfur, El Gadarif and Red Sea. The partial lockdown has been continuously extended.
The Federal Ministry of Health launched a website covid19sd.info dedicated to sharing statistics and latest information on COVID-19 cases in Sudan.
The ministry stressed the importance of citizens committing to and applying preventive measures and reporting suspected cases. To answer all questions related to COVID-19, a government-sponsored call centre has been established for all residents of Sudan, operating 24/7. Call centre: 221 or 9090.
