New African magazine just revealed its 100 Most Influential Africans of the Year list as part of its December 2018 issue.

Out of the 100 men and women on the list, only three entries represent Sudan. First comes radiologist Dr Hania Morsi Fadl, founder of Khartoum Breast Care Centre (KBCC); followed by social activist and writer, Yasmin Abdel-Magied; and CNN journalist, Nima Elbagir. Yes, all women.

The December issue has been published with four different covers, featuring four different notable figures from the list, which include Ethiopia’s Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed; DR Congo’s 2018 Nobel Peace Prize co-winner, Dr Denis Mukwege; Botswana’s 31-year old Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Bogolo Joy Kenewendo and Egypt’s football star, Mo Salah.

Other notable figures on the list are Eriterian-American comedian and actress, Tiffany Haddish; Senegalese-American producer and actress Issa Rae; Nigerian singer, Davido; Nigerian singer and songwriter, Wizkid; and US Congress Ilhan Omer.
