The Federal Ministry of Health has reported 103 new COVID-19 cases and six new deaths on 4 July 2020, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in Sudan to 9,997 and the total number of deaths to 622.
The ministry also reported 135 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 5,034.
On Tuesday, 7 July 2020, Sudan announced easing of partial lockdown and gradual return for work and movement as of 8 July. Sudan has been under partial lockdown since 18 April 2020.

According to the ministry, out of the 103 newly reported cases, 45 are from Khartoum, 22 from the River Nile, 15 from Ash Shamaliyah, eight from El Gezira, five from West Kordofan, four from the White Nile, three from the Red Sea, and one from El Gadarif. Out of the six newly reported deaths, three are from El Gezira, one from Khartoum, one from Sennar, and one from the Red Sea.
Out of the total 9,997 positive cases in Sudan, 7,259 are from Khartoum, 963 from El Gezira, 251 from El Gadarif, 224 from the River Nile, 195 from Sennar, 185 from the Red Sea, 183 from North Kordofan, 162 from the White Nile, 142 from North Darfur, 123 from Kassala, 111 from Ash Shamaliyah, 61 from West Kordofan, 38 from South Darfur, 32 from West Darfur, 27 from the Blue Nile, 21 from East Darfur, 15 from South Kordofan and five from Central Darfur. As of 9 May, all of Sudan’s 18 states have reported COVID-19 cases.

The ministry stressed the importance of citizens committing to and applying preventive measures and reporting suspected cases. To answer all questions related to COVID-19, a government-sponsored call centre has been established for all residents of Sudan, operating 24/7. Call centre: 221 or 9090.
