Are the Pictures of A Young Woman Holding ‘I Want A Husband’ Sign Photoshopped?

Pictures of a young woman standing at a traffic signal holding a sign that reads ‘I want a husband. I want to get married. I accept polygamy’, followed by her contact number, has gone viral on social media.

The young woman, who is yet to be identified, stood at a traffic signal, wearing a a black mask, pink scarf, black and white blouse, and a black skirt, and holding the sign up to anyone passing by.

The reactions to the viral pictures were mostly positive with many supporting her and applauding her for bravery, others encouraging for a man to stand up and take up the offer, and even offering to pay for the wedding.

Other have commented on the dire economic situation in Sudan, which has led to women wishing to be married, hoping for a better life, and men who wish to be married but cannot afford to.

Some have warned against contacting her as they believed that it may be a scam.

Many Arabic news organisations have picked up on the viral pictures and covered it as a story on their platforms.

However, the picture may have been photoshopped with many saying the real sign said, ‘I want a job. I would like to work. University graduate,’ followed by her contact number.
