Emergency Reliefs for Sudan

On Saturday, 15 April 2023, fighting erupted between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a paramilitary force led by General Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti).

Clashes between the two forces continue, leaving many casualties and property damages along the way. Thousands are fleeing their homes to find shelter elsewhere.

Due to ongoing fighting, local and international aid has been hindered. A few charity organisations are able to provide aid in Sudan.

EMERGENCY

EMERGENCY is an independent and neutral international organisation founded in 1994 to provide free, high-quality medical and surgical care to victims of war, landmines and poverty. They have treated 12 million people in 20 different countries and currently operates in Afghanistan, Eritrea, Iraq, Italy, Sierra Leone, Sudan, and Uganda. Their work is made possible by the contributions of thousands of supporters from across the world.

Due to the clashes between RSF and SAF across Sudan, many of EMERGENCY staff members are unable to reach EMERGENCY’s clinics because of unsafe travel routes. They report a lack of food, water and electricity as the situation becomes increasingly difficult.
