Naomi Campbell Wears Sudanese Designer Abdel El Tayeb on Vogue Arabia Cover

On the cover of Vogue Arabia’s latest issue is the celebrated English supermodel Naomi Campbell dressed in an ensemble designed by Paris-based Franco-Sudanese designer Abdel El Tayeb.

The November 2022 issue, edited by the sister of the Amir of Qatar, HE Sheikha Al Mayassa Bint Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, features pages of the supermodel and philanthropist dressed in African designers as she talks about supporting and mentoring young talent in Africa and other projects close to her heart, and of course, motherhood. Campbell shared the cover on her Instagram, saying, ‘Everyone’s now looking towards Africa for the next big thing, but I’ve been visiting and working in the continent since 1993.’

El Tayeb also took to social media to celebrate his designs being worn by the supermodel, and on the cover of Vogue Arabia. In addition to this achievement, El Tayeb recently won in the category of debut talents in Qatar’s Fashion Trust Arabia (FTA) 2021, a prestigious initiative that provides financial and mentorship support. Born in Bordeaux, France, a graduate of textile design at Olivier de Serres in Paris and with post-graduate studies in styling and fashion creation from the Ecole Nationale supérieure des arts visuels de la cambre in Brussels, El Tayeb served as an assistant designer at Isabel Marant, Balmain shoes, Cédric Charlier, and the artisanal collection at Maison Margiela. Today, he works at Bottega Veneta.
